"Life is all about choices. When you cut away all
the junk, every situation is a choice. You choose how you react to
situations. you choose how people will affect your mood. You choose
to be in a good mood or bad mood. The bottom line is: It's your choice
how you live life."
The reason we Americans have that choice today is soon
to be celebrated throughout these United States during the 4th of
July weekend with family and friends at local displays of fireworks,
parades, picnics, etc. God Bless The USA for our Freedom of Choice.
Speaking of choices, I was chatting with a friend online
one evening about simple and hard ways of doing things. AND... I stated
something to the fact that, "I always seem to find the hard way
of doing things."
It runs in my family. What can I say? It amazes me that
I can't see the simplicity of the situation until after I have spent
numerous hours figuring it out the hard way. It literally "Blows
my mind!" perhaps we get so involved that we don't see the simplicity
of it all. Who knows for sure?
It reminds me of a story about one of my sisters and
the little soap dispenser that was built into the sink near the faucet
fixtures. Anyway, I walked into her kitchen on day a few years ago
and here she is with a huge wrench dismantling the top fictures of
the kitchen sink so she could fill the soap dispenser.
I just sat at her kitchen breakfast bar, smiling and
trying hard to contain myself without laughing out loud. (LOL). She
was very serious-minded about figuring it out. she must have seen
me smiling (smirking), because she asked me in an older sister tone,
"If you think you can do it any better, then get over here and
do it." Well! I walked over to the sink. I looked the situation
over carefully. I reached underneath the sink where the bottle was
and unscrewed it. simple as that! It cracked us both up. We still
laugh about it when one is doing something the hard way.
Back to Choices... Have you ever put off what you could
do today and let things get stacked up? don't we all do that a times?
There are some things that I just dread doing. I seem to put them
aside so I can enjoy doing those things that give a calmness peace
and me the most pleasure in my life. I'm not the only one that does
that.
We each have a very valuable choice. That Choice is
choosing our friends. Some writers say that you can choose your friends,
but NOT your family. I would like to let you know that, depending
on the family you're looking for, "You CAN choose your family!"
I adopt family members from my closest friends all the time. I have
a very large family of friends!
Speaking of friends... I would like to let some of my
friends out there know that I cherish each of them for the love, friendship,
patience, peace and growth they bring into my life. I shall never
forget you. I shall always be there if you need me. My thoughts are
with you everyday even if we don't talk or write each day. May God
Bless you all.
I know that I've said this before in other newsletters,
BUT... It really is an important message that I would like to pass
on again. "You can choose to be in a good mood or you can choose
to be in a bad mood."
May Wealth and Success follow Love into your home!
My husband was going through some old papers we have
stored around this place and found a great old business card for the
"First National Bank of Fairvalley, Oklahoma." It shows
the Capital Stock, $100,.000, and the Shares, $1,0000 each.
The name on the cards is that of E. C. Nokes (Ex-Soldier)
Solicitor. Does that ring a bell out there with any of you NW Oklahomans?
AND, Don't let me forget the little quote at the bottom of the card
that states, "Over the Top, boys."
